Art & Things

5 years of fiddling around and you figure some stuff out.

This semester I’m taking some time to take a watercolor class. Mostly stemmed of my own curiosity but I also made a promise which started my whole foray into the medium. We’ve painted a lot of environments…

A wiener dog for my roomie’s b-day. :>
A doughnut typeface for my Illustration seminar! Decided nothing would be better than something edible. Done in Watercolor

My final assignment for Illustration class! It was a big experiment in every way. This was one of my first times doing an Illustration start to finish in Photoshop, first time making a gif, lots of things!
The theme of the assignment was mythical creatures. So I chose the golden hind from Greek mythology. She was part of Hercules’ labors in the myth original myth, and Hercules was pegged with chasing her down. Because she belonged to the goddess Artemis it is said that she had golden antlers, and bronze hooves as well as the ability to out-run an arrow in flight.

Here’s some more Concept Art work! This is a little outside of the subject, but was fun to do anyway. This is a vehicle concept for our group assignment doing a post-apocalyptic Lion King redesign. Since we chose a video game as our medium, my idea was that this could be a cart that you would buy items off of in game. Was loads of fun to do! My professor even suggested that I do more views (perhaps a top, or another side of it) to give it a full turn around of sorts. But…with 5 other concept boards to do and lots of work, we’ll see if that goes!

A color study and some crazy variations for my Illustration project.
We’re creating a type face based upon a central theme, so of course I’d choose something food related. :>

Long time no see!Junior year has thoroughly kicked my buns so far, so my lack of presence has mostly been excusable….not really hahaIn lieu of anything hardcore here is a sneak peek at my sketches for Concept Art. Our project is to continuously building a world around redesigning an existing story, so I’m doing “UP” with a science fiction theme. These are some interiors. These also kicked my sweet buns.Hopefully there will be more to come!

Story of a Place Assignment
"Spirit of the Frontier"

Reposting this version and deleting the old. I’ve had to rescan it and redo the text because the first pass was pretty shoddy.

This project is in response to an assignment having to do with a “big picture, small picture” sort of story. I decided to begin developing a story that I’ve been working on for a while just for fun.
So this is the beginning of hopefully an ongoing project titled: “Mundi”
